ASSORTMENT

I am titling this 1st Blog Post Assortment because, actually, every day, every hour of our lives is an assortment of events, emotions, sightings, thoughts, etc.
For instance, I learned this morning that the American Public is owed a big Bravo because a poll shows that our approval rating of CONGRESS is down To 10%.  NOW, let's hope we follow that up by voting the stallers and do-nothings out of office.
Another Brava to Elaine Paige.  WHO? She was Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's 1st Evita, his 1st star in Sunset Blvd.  She performed at Lincoln Center's Allen Room and she still has that special star power.
Pres. Obama will be re-elected.  Let's hope that in his second term, he can worry about doing right for our country, because he doesn't have to be a candidate again.
The Stock Market will probably give back a little of recent gains, but history shows that it will then rise further.
The current trend, for safety and income, is to buy big multi-national company stocks with high diividends. It makes sense as bonds are not buyable.  Just be careful as to where their earnings come from.  Apple still pays no Div. It's performance has been nothing short of spectacular. If it starts to pay a dividend it will take off again.  Keep in mind it is sitting on 80Bil cash.
The Dancers at NYC Ballet are Wonderful.  From the Corps to the Principals....Awesome.
Wendy Whelan, a Principal for 21 years, dances 7 Deadly Sins with the grace, flexibility, artristic ability and stamina of a 20 year old......unbelievable.  Lauren King....smiles and Red Hair stands out in the corps.
If eating near Lincoln Center, I suggest avoiding PJ Clarke's.  Food and service have gone the way of the Downhill skier.  On the other hand, Steve Hansen's Atlantic Grill is great.
Back to money: Caution with Muni Bonds. The Pres wants to Tax them.
Caution with MLP's He wants to change their Tax Status Too.  Sure makes you think about voting with your wallet.
Of the new Mini Cars, solidity/price/safety/etc don't forget the Fiat....love it.
Barron's says to buy Pfizer stock. Cheap and pays 4% dividend.  They are very often right.
